Who is Dr. Lindsay?
The short version:
I’m a Chiropractor, Graston Technique Provider, Webster Certified Practitioner and CACCP at Gloucester Centre Chiropractic. I like health, wellness, sports, travel and reading (check out my bookshelf & pledge).
Chiropractors are spinal health care experts – we focus on the health & function of the whole body via care of the spine, nervous system, joints & muscles. I am more than just a back pain specialist — I can help with joint & muscle pain, headaches, chronic/overuse injuries, sports injuries, tennis/golfer’s elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome & posture-related conditions.
In my general family practice I care for people of all ages, from infants to the elderly, including pregnant women. (I have advanced training & certification in pediatrics and pregnancy care). Armchair athletes, weekend warriors & elite athletes, I’ve seen them all! In Latin, doctor means teacher and it’s a role I love.
Pain relief? Improved function & mobility? Better posture? Enhanced health & wellness? Look no further.
The long(er) version:
Growing up in Sarnia, ON, I was actively involved in my community, especially in the local soccer scene. It was through my involvement with sports that I became interested in health, injury prevention and rehabilitation. This interest continued to grow when I attended McMaster University. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Kinesiology) with a Minor in Psychology. After university, I moved to Toronto to attend the four year Chiropractic Degree program at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. I moved to Ottawa and joined Gloucester Centre Chiropractic as a Doctor of Chiropractic in September 2008.
As a chiropractor I aim to educate and motivate my patients to reach their health and wellness goals. The main techniques I use are Diversified, Thompson/drop pieces, Activator, myofascial release/soft tissue therapy and Mulligan Mobilizations with Movement. Rehabilitation, stretching/strengthening exercises, nutrition and ergonomic advice are integral components of my practice as I strive to help patients decrease pain, regain motion and function, and achieve their optimal health.
In addition to chiropractic adjustments, I integrate soft tissue/muscle/myofascial techniques, rehabilitation, stretching and strengthening exercises, nutrition and ergonomic advice into practice. I am Certified by the Academy Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics (CACCP). I am a Graston Technique Provider, a Certified Thompson Practitioner and am certified in the Webster Technique. In my spare time I enjoy playing and watching sports, working out, travelling (especially hiking/trekking) and reading (check out my bookshelf & pledge).
